Lotus fiber extracted from Lotus Steam

Lotus fabric (lotus silk) is a textile made from fibers inside lotus plant stems, traditionally produced around Inle Lake in Myanmar.

How it’s made:

  1. Harvest stems – Fresh lotus stems are collected from the water.

  2. Extract fibers – The stems are snapped and pulled apart to reveal thin natural filaments.

  3. Roll into thread – The filaments are rolled together by hand to make yarn.

  4. Spin and weave – The yarn is spun and woven on handlooms to create the fabric.

Producing the thread requires many lotus stems and careful handwork, which is why lotus fabric is quite rare.

Rose Petal Fiber:

Rose petal fabric (often called rose fiber) is a textile made from rose petals and stems that remain after roses are processed for perfumes or oils.

How it’s made:

  1. Collect petals – Leftover rose petals from rose processing are gathered.

  2. Extract cellulose – The plant material is processed to extract natural cellulose fibers.

  3. Create fiber – The cellulose is turned into a soft filament similar to viscose.

  4. Spin and weave – The fibers are spun into yarn and woven or knitted into fabric.

The resulting fabric is soft, lightweight, breathable, and biodegradable, and it reuses plant waste from rose production.
